Bed Stuy: Do or Die

2011 / 80min / DCP

DIRECTOR: DANIEL BISHOP

Chronicling the work of the Bedford-Stuyvesant Volunteer Ambulance Corps (BSVAC), the first black volunteer-run ambulance corps in America, the film traces the work and origins of the group back from today to the late 80s, when the twin burdens of the drug war and violent crime made emergency medical care inaccessible to far too many in the neighborhood.
