Eddie Constantine’s B-movie private dick Lemmy Caution finds himself, along with Anna Karina’s Natasha von Braun, on the trail of her rogue scientist father: the inventor of Alpha 60, a sentient computer that keeps tabs on the citizenry of a metropolis of the far-flung future called Alphaville, shot by Raoul Coutard in glistening chromium black and white on the streets of mid-60s Paris. Originally titled “Tarzan vs. IBM.”
