Ten Seconds to Hell
DIRECTOR: ROBERT ALDRICH
CAST: JACK PALANCE, JEFF CHANDLER, MARTINE CAROL
During one of Aldrich’s not-infrequent periods of disfavor with the Hollywood studios he split to West Germany to produce Ten Seconds to Hell, the story of a bomb disposal unit at work in the ruins of postwar Berlin. Revisiting a dynamic familiar from Vera Cruz, Ten Seconds pits a man of principle (a tormented Jack Palance) against a feckless, mercenary cynic (Jeff Chandler, sipping champagne amid the rubble of civilization).
