DIRECTOR: ALLAN DWAN

CAST: MARSHA HUNT, CHARLES WINNINGER, WILLIAM LUNDIGAN, GAIL PATRICK

Displaying his trademark deft touch, honed through over one hundred features rooted in the earliest days of cinema, Allan Dwan’s The Inside Story is a warm, funny, folksy fable which goes on its rounds through one Vermont village, never stooping to self-seriousness even when laying out some very concrete lessons in economics, showing, in Dwan’s own words, “what a thousand dollars would do if it moved fast enough, from person to person,” instead of sitting safely in a bank.

Restored by UCLA Film & Televison Archive, in conjunction with Paramount, with funding from the Packard Humanities Institute.
