It’s a dark and rainy night; the streets of Taipei are empty. But the neon lights of a classic movie-house showing King Hu’s wuxia classic Dragon Inn remain bright and beckoning. However, this is the theater’s final screening before it shutters its doors forever. In this nearly wordless wonder, the theater—its screening room, projection booth, hallways, bathrooms—becomes a sort of haunted house. The film is a tribute to traditional movie-going, and is itself a modern classic.
