DIRECTOR: IRWIN WINKLER

CAST: KEVIN KLINE, ASHLEY JUDD, JONATHAN PRYCE

Screening followed by a short film on Irwin Winkler's career, a Q&A with Irwin Winkler, Kevin Kline, and Jay Cocks moderated by Glenn Kenny, and a book signing of Irwin Winkler's new memoir, A Life in Movies: Stories from 50 Years in Hollywood.

Winkler’s brilliant musical biopic treating the life and art of the composer and songwriter Cole Porter, here embodied by a never-better Kevin Kline, who from his deathbed flashes back to oversee a career marked by triumph, tragedy, and always the outsized influence of wife Linda Lee, played by Ashley Judd. A most unorthodox love story between the gay Porter and the supportive but independent-minded Linda Lee, with Porter standards given an all-star lineup of interpreters including Elvis Costello, Alanis Morrissette, and Natalie Cole.
