In an ethereal New York City, starving artist Joseph Cotten’s chance encounter with a young girl (Jennifer Jones) in Central Park begins an obsessive relationship between the painter and his model, seemingly an unstuck-in-time projection from the turn of the century mysteriously resurfacing in contemporary New York. Achingly romantic, with a hurricane-lashed climax that must be experienced to be believed, Portrait was a tribute from Selznick to his lover and muse, Jones.

Screening as a part of Produced by David O. Selznick.
