DIRECTOR: LEO MCCAREY

CAST: KAY FRANCIS, JEANETTE MACDONALD, JACKIE OAKIE, SKEETS GALLAGHER

A gem from deep in the filmography of McCarey, one of the supreme comic talents ever produced in America, this dirty-minded musical Pre-Code jape has Jeanette MacDonald as a Broadway costume designer who winds up on an off-the-maps isle en route to Argentina along with fellow castaways, including cab driver Jackie Oakie and heiress/romantic rival Francis. Spirited, slapsticky, and silly to a fault, with Skeets Gallagher the lone man on an island of damsels who speak in inexplicable Bronx accents.

Screening as a part of Kay Francis: The Queen of Pleasure.
