DIRECTOR: NORMAN Z. MCLEOD

CAST: DANNY KAYE, VIRGINIA MAYO, BORIS KARLOFF

Screening preceded by a reading and slideshow presentation by Maira and Alex Kalman on their new book, Sara Berman's Closet.

Danny Kaye’s Walter Mitty is just a nobody living in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, working a nowhere job for the Pierce Publishing Company, but when he lets the stories from the pulp magazines that he proofreads take over his imagination, he can be anyone and anything—an outlaw in the Wild West, a death-defying fighter pilot, and a red-hot Romeo stepping out with bombshell Virginia Mayo. A cracking comedy from the much-anthologized James Thurber story, and perhaps the ideal vehicle for Kaye’s high-octane comedy stylings.

Screening as a part Sara Bermans Dream Double Feature.

A reading of Sara Berman’s Closet will begin at noon before the screenings, with a signing in between.
