Vincent Price’s first iconic horror role was as a sinister wax museum owner and sculptor in late-nineteenth-century New York who takes gruesome revenge on the world after the museum is burned down by his crooked business partner. The first color 3D film by a Hollywood studio, House of Wax remains a creepy delight, featuring memorable stereoscopic effects, despite the fact that director André de Toth was blind in one eye.
