An aspiring novelist with writer’s block, Moratiwa runs a second hand bookstore in the hippest part of Johannesburg. Meeting the man of her dreams takes our heroine on a journey of comic encounters in this charming, funny and romantic film. Profiting from the tangible chemistry between the two lead characters, the film also shows a side of Johannesburg rarely seen. This is Nigerian-born Akin Omotoso’s third feature film, situating him as a dominant player in the world of new African cinema.

Tell Me Sweet Something is screening as part of the series Nollywood 3.0.
